Designed and produced by Gemini in partnership with Raytec Vision, Bellavista is the world's first baby leaf harvester with optical sorting, developed to operate both in open fields and enclosed spaces such as greenhouses.
During harvesting, the product is cut to a preset height by means of a pulley-driven belt blade, then conveyed to a cleaning and sorting system located in the upper part of the harvester and consisting of a metal mesh belt constantly shaken by two beater bars that eliminate smaller foreign bodies, which fall through the mesh. The product is conveyed on by the shaker belt to the back of the machine and the Rayfly-Agro sorter, whose dual optical system ejects larger foreign bodies with moving flaps.
In the sorting system, the product is transferred onto an acceleration belt which launches the product into the optical sensing space. The leaves in flight are analyzed by the optical system, which allows suitable product to pass and contaminants or defective product to be eliminated.
The suitable product therefore continues its trajectory onto a dedicated conveyor belt, while foreign bodies are intercepted by the pneumatic flap system, which strikes and ejects the bodies on a trajectory into the rejected product and foreign body containment area.
TECHNOLOGY
Bellavista is equipped with Bosch Rexroth high-performance traction, a powerful Kohler 74Hp Tier IV Final engine, and a state-of-the-art electrical system with CAN bus technology.
Thanks to a high driving position, multifunction display and simplified controls, Bellavista can be fully controlled without moving from the comfortable driving position.
All electrical components have a high IP65 protection rating to withstand washing and tough operating conditions.
The optical system, Rayfly-Agro, is a penta-chromatic sorter equipped with Near Infra-Red (NIR) technology, offering chlorophyll analysis designed to accurately detect foreign bodies in products with naturally high chlorophyll content, such as cut salads.
The sorter uses an exclusive technological solution to avoid sunlight interference, critical during harvesting, and identifies defective and foreign bodies down to 4x4mm, directly discarding 95% of field contaminants.
All Bellavista harvesters have a 3G/4G connection for software updates and remote support via PC, smartphone or tablet.
